The Balnarring Beach House achieves a remarkable level of sophistication for a very modest budget. The simplicity of the floor plan – two inter connected pavilions – combined with the use of low maintenance materials and an uncluttered approach to the building detailing, results in a house that is light and joyful.
Excellent orientation on the block ensures maximum light penetration into the building. The design responds to this with ample glazing and variable outdoor living areas in the form of raised decks. This combination of design features gives the building an easy connectivity with the outdoor environment.
The interior of this house is simple yet elegant, befitting a contemporary coastal home.
Site disruption has been minimised through the use of a factory-built module construction process.
