Very similarly to its joint winner, the designers of the Clarendon Street Office Renovation have taken advantage and highlighted the industrial characteristics of building while contrasting them with contemporary lines and finish. The client's love of grungy New York architecture has been relayed within these interiors.
New spaces have been created with the construction of a mezzanine level that increased the leasable area, and a roof deck that capitalised on the city views. The lift lobby was also refurbished in line with the new fitout, using innovative texturised tiling solutions.
There is a richness evident in finishes such as sandblasted red brick walls, stained timber ceilings, corrugated steel panels and crisp white plasterboard walls. Cathedral ceilings, industrial fans and exposed services sit in contrast to the texture of the surrounding linings.
The feature of the reclaimed doors as wall panelling creates interest and innovation.
