The new structure sits on the adjacent apartment block side, ensuring security and privacy for the family. Through careful window placement, northerly light has been brought into a building not naturally orientated to it. The light-filled, open living space now has clear views of the swimming pool and outdoor area.
Through careful planning, Sketch Building Design has created a beautifully detailed, minimalistic and timeless kitchen. As the focal area for family life, the kitchen reflects this by being placed in the centre of the home with sight lines to all main living zones. Every aspect of this kitchen was thoughtfully placed to maximize convenience and build a stronger connection with other spaces. The butler’s pantry has direct access to the laundry, garage and outdoor living areas.
By placing the ovens at the end of the scullery they are easily accessible to the main kitchen area creating the ideal situation for entertaining. With exquisite joinery and close attention to fine details, this streamlined kitchen is a clear standout.
A noteworthy element of the project is the successful endeavour to enhance the heritage of the old home – solid plastering, slate roofing and tuck pointing are often elements bypassed in the current era.
