‘Stones Throw’ Meeniyan House

Beaumont Concepts

‘Stones Throw’ is a beautiful response to the design brief for a new contemporary farm house, delivering a lateral and streamlined design solution. This house utilises a simple robust palette of finishes, in line with its functional requirements, and applies them with rigor, resulting in a bright airy and crisp yet nurturing built environment. Full advantage is taken of the splendid and ample vistas. The design avoids dominating the landscape by employing a flat roof behind parapets, combined with full height glazing and light coloured walls, all of which contribute to this lightness of form. Solid walls form a protective shroud to the east and south. The planning provides for a real sense of arrival from the entry hall into the expansive glazed living zone, with its seamless connection to the vastness of its rural site. Interior detailing has been fully resolved and, again, the selection of robust materials has been applied with a crisp and slightly playful rigor. The end result of this controlled and resolved approach is a truly beautiful new home/farm house.
