With massing of the forms, this house is extremely well handled and is highlighted by careful fenestration, providing an inviting sense of selective transparency. The intelligent articulation avoids the impression of bulk, and ensures that the forms appear to float gracefully over the cleverly concealed garage. The transparent sections invite the viewer to explore further from the spare but elegant entry, while a pleasing rhythm is developed through the use of timber and zinc cladding, and a determined resistance to the use of any unnecessary detail. The interior and landscaping are similarly restrained.
