This is a warm and lively design set amongst lush native vegetation. Designed as a ‘showpiece’, the house nevertheless avoids domination of the landscape through careful massing and a predominantly single-storey form. A fragmented plan not only allows for a well-articulated form, but also optimises north sun to all areas. Skillion roof forms reach towards the treetops, with natural timber cladding to the upper parts of rendered walls making reference to the native vegetation. Stonework accents continue the palette of natural materials used throughout, while timber decking connects the house to a wet edge pool in which the surrounding trees are reflected.
