Residential Aged Care Development Proposed Planning Reforms

Reforms Proposed for Residential Aged Care Development in Victoria

Consultation has commenced on reforms to the Victoria Planning Provisions which are proposed to support appropriately designed and located residential aged care development in established residential areas to cater for an aging population.

Victoria needs more Residential Aged Care facilities to meet existing and future demand from an ageing population.

Supporting Residential Aged Care facilities throughout our urban environment will allow older people to live in appropriate housing and remain in their local community.

The Residential Aged Care facility reforms will ensure key outcomes from Homes for Victorians and Plan Melbourne 2017-2050 are achieved.

The consultation period concludes Friday, 16 February 2018.
